I wonder what Colin now thinks is our best starting XI and what formation
The back 5 seems to be sorted now
Kenny (Ashdown as back-up)
Byram, Peltier, Lees, Warnock -

With Pearce and White as backup and an ability to switch Peltier and Lees
to full back(s) this does seem reasonably strong

Do we then go some sort of 4 4 2 with McCormack and Morison up front (when
he is fit)
Then in midfield would have to go Green, Austin, Barkley and Diouf - that
gives us no natural width and has 2 players Diouf and Barkley who both like
to play behind the front two. It also means no place for Norris, Brown,
Tonge and Varney (or Hall , White or Somma)

Or will he try and accomodate things and go with a 4 2 3 1
With Morison the one (or Haibibou or even Somma or Varney)
A defensive 2 in front of the back 4 of Brown and Austin (or Norris or
Green)
And an attacking 3 behind the striker - McCormack, Diouf and Barkley (with
Varney, Green, White, Hall being called in as required)

Whatever XI we go for there seems to be problems both in finding the right
player for the right place and making sure all the 'first teamers' are
actually in the team

Some tough decisions ahead for the manager
