I don't think we have the players for 4-4-2 on paper but what do I know? I'd assume Morrison will be in the team ASAP for Becchio when fit.
The comments post match (I didn't see the game) from McCormack were telling (for me) - seems he's been banging on about playing up front and hasn't been allowed to, him and Diouf are played in similar positions. Unless the Spuds game/performance have convinced Warnock to shove him up front? personally, I think he'll leave at the end of the season if he's not played up front. > Date: Fri, 1 Feb 2013 14:08:24 +0000 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [LU] likely line up > > I wonder what Colin now thinks is our best starting XI and what formation > The back 5 seems to be sorted now > Kenny (Ashdown as back-up) > Byram, Peltier, Lees, Warnock - > > With Pearce and White as backup and an ability to switch Peltier and Lees > to full back(s) this does seem reasonably strong > > Do we then go some sort of 4 4 2 with McCormack and Morison up front (when > he is fit) > Then in midfield would have to go Green, Austin, Barkley and Diouf - that > gives us no natural width and has 2 players Diouf and Barkley who both like > to play behind the front two.
