of course you can have a goalscorer who can trap a ball , play a pass and score
goals at Championshiop level. Ricky Lambert is one and Morrison has proved for
Millwall that he can do it too (45 goals in 2 seasons). Also our own McCormack
has proved it can be done scoring 19 the previous season. If you look around
there are others - the bloke from Palace who has nearly 30 goals already,
Jordon Rhodes and many others. Yes some of these cost a bit of brass but thats
the sort of player we need to take us up.

and it's funny you talk about Becchio as if he's a proven 20 goal a season
scorer - he never managed 20 in one season in League One and got 11 season
before last so don't make out he's something he's not.

the Becchio watch thing is to demonstrate that this guy is just not up to the
premier league, in fact he's not even close. I never said he single handedly
could avoided getting beat against scum but he would have managed the team or
maybe the first striker sub if he was showing some promise.

and of course Becchio would have scored both pens yesterday - not if he took it
like the one he missed v Yeovil. At least Macca got it on target.

Fair comment, just as it isn't a given that we'd have got a second penalty if
we'd scored the first either.
Point is, are we really any better with Morison than we were without him?
Were we better off with a clumsy scorer of penalties and tap-ins than refined
ball players who can't hit a barn door?
Rich would say he wants a goalscorer who can trap and control a ball with his
first touch but what if at this level you can't have both? If it's goal scoring
or control, which do you choose?
