As usual you hit the nail on the head Dave, no one is going over the top in
excitement for the new season but even us old cynics must admit most signs have
been positive. Unlike Bates, Haigh and McD, now a Elland Raod buzzing with a
good vide is worth a dozen or more points a year. MOT!

The fact that Bates has gone, Warnock and his hoof ball has gone, we have spent
£1 on a player for the first time in 8 years, we have signed 2 younger players
rather than just has beens, we have a forward thinking manager, we have owners
and a board who are at least trying to engage with the fans, the prices have
come down and new catagories have been introduced , the ridiculous rules re
young fans which meant walk-ups were being asked to pay full adult prices have
been abolished.

May not all , or any, be 'exciting' as such but added together we seem after 8
years or whatever of hell and being seen as sickpots and dissidents etc there
is something to be optimistic about.

All I want is a team that tries its best, plays attractive football within its
limitations and more than anything I have, to quote modern jargon, "an
enjoyable match day experience" something which has not been the case over the
last few years.

I have never really cared what Division we are in and never bothered about who
the opposition are I just want a team and a club I can be proud of. I want the
missing thousands to come back.

Fair enough if you want more or something different before you come to games
then that is your choice

Dave

Not being facetious. Just what is there to get excited about?
I am not trying to convince someone. But I really do not understand.

I like the stuff on the OS about a big marketing campaign and Haighs quotes
about 'standing proud and shouting loud'

I like even more the little dig at Bates with the 'you can't change the past'
logo

It is about time they tried to get back in touch with the missing fans and to
give the impression (even if it is false) that the fans are in fact an
important part of the club and do matter to the owners etc

Another step in the right direction and another little push to those who are
wavering over coming back to ER either as ST holders or just going to the odd
game
