As Dr Mike put it the other day - never go back. The number of players who've succeeded when returning to a former club is surely dwarfed by the number of disappointments. In Beckford's case, he basically played three seasons for us in League One, in front of Howson, Snodgrass, Gradel, et al. Our team's changed, he's lost a bit of pace, it wouldn't just click back how it was. I'd obviously rather have him than Noel Hunt, but to spend money to make that happen...
