Now I have had the benefit of seeing it on TV a few times I think that Kenny WAS to blame. He should have been able to palm it wide rather than into the feet of the onrushing forward. I think my point about not catching shots still stands but on this occasion Kenny (who has had a great season - shot stopping wise) got it wrong in the way he palmed it out Like you say a draw when 0 2 at half time is a good result but not when you are 3 2 up with less than ten minutes to go
I did like McDermotts post match comments - so often after a game like this the managers come out and bemoan poor defending and reluctantly accept it may have been fun for the fans. Brian said something along the lines of 'we all want to win one nil, but how can anyone complain after excitement and entertainment like that?" My thoughts exactly - yes we want to win but we would settle for entertainment. Really loved it on Saturday and what happened on the pitch galvanised the supporters off it and vice versa, the players would not have gone for it like they did without the 'roar of the crowd' It proves once again it is so much better to get right behind the team rather than moaning and booing them Dave ________________________________ From: David Brennan <[email protected]> To: "'[email protected]'" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 9 December 2013, 10:36 Subject: Re: [LU] Watford > Message: 3 > Date: Sat, 7 Dec 2013 20:56:38 +0000 (GMT) > From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> > To: leeds list <[email protected]> > Subject: [LU] Watford > - Kenny saved well > but the ball broke free and their forward was on hand to get the final > and equalising goal. I do not attach any blame to Kenny but can't help > feeling that an old time keeper would have caught the ball when he > saved it, but for whatever reason (the light swerving ball) keepers > today seem to be trained to push the ball away and hopefully get up to > make the second save (as Kenny did v Wigan) That That was right in front of us in the south stand, and we all thought that Kenny should have done better, he got down to block the shot, but instead of pushing it out wide he pushed it back in, giving the chance of the follow up. Might be being a bit picky there, but he could have done better. Still, 3-3 from 0-2 down, shouldn't really be complaining. And thanks to Nick for the pies, they were delicious.
