I think your position sums up the general feeling among the match going fans,
Ted.
Everyone wanted him to do well and thought that he would be the man to take the
whole club forward. The off field problems have been awful for the bloke, but
at the same time, they have saved him from a lot of criticism, without the
stories of the interference from Bahrain etc he would have copped a lot more
flak. However patience, and we have been patient and supportive of him, has run
out and now his position is untenable. He has lost all the good will and belief
that fans had in him. Last night a couple of times my mate pointed to him and
said he looked like a dead man walking.
Could he have done the job in a more stable and sensible environment - who
knows. No doubt we will find out in his next job if Reading or Leeds was the
real McDermott, but his time is up. If he does stay, every transfer in will be
heavily scrutinised and fans will pick fault. Of course a 5 or 6 game winning
run at the start of next season and bringing in some exciting talent will have
us all changing our minds , but we just cannot see it happening.

So thanks Brian, you came , you tried, you were sh*t upon from a great height,
but it is time to say goodbye

Dave

I've now got off my fence, McDermott out!

Yesterday was the last straw.  Two wins against probably the worst two teams in
the division hides nothing.  McDermott doesn't know what he's doing.

Subs yesterday - two nil down and he does a straight swap, Hunt for Smith.  We
were losing ffs!  Why not have both Hunt & Smith on?  Then Tonge for Pugh. Fcuk
me, why not bring White on for some pace down the wing (or Stewart for that
matter)
He shouldn't have brought Austin back, and when Murphy has looked improved
playing in a more forward role, why shove him back behind Austin?
And Wooton?  On the wing? Why?

In the post match interview (on radio Leeds) he moaned about not having any
pace in the team (or squad).  What?  He had White and Stewart both (unused) on
the bench!
When Popey asked him if he had thought about changing anything, hinting at
playing some youngsters - he said he had changed it and was trying the diamond
formation (again).  Clueless.

I was willing to give him some backing but he really doesn't know who to play,
or where they should play.
Nice bloke but I've lost my patience.  I don't want him to squander any money
that Cellino might have available (if any).
