While yesterday was a pretty dismal display, particularily in the first
half, it was clear that we were at least trying to play a passing game,
problem was it didn’t go anywhere and eventually the ball was lost, it’ll
take time and better players to reach the promised land and I don’t think we
have either. Eventually we were all calling for a return to the hoof ball
of old and it returned with the introduction of Smith, who scared the shit
out of the millwall defence. He did however fluff one of the 2 decent
chances we had (the other fell to Hunt who just toe-poked it !) Ajose and
Doukara had decent debuts, Silvestri looked OK in goal, but his kicking and
distribution was pretty dire.

Given the players available the only questionable selection decision
hockaday made was Hunt instead of Smith, Hunt ran around like an
enthusiastic ballboy, but achieved nothing, how is it that decent, well
respected players turn up at Leeds and immediately turn into talentless
numpties? As for giving the youngsters a go, Cook came on and didn’t
impress and was at fault for the penalty , so immediately people were
complaining that he shouldn’t have been bought on in such a cauldron and
when we were losing – make your mind up!

There are much worse teams in the championship, but I think our big problem
is being bereft of confidence and I’m not sure the histrionics or Mr Cellino
will help, of the 3 decent players he’s been after, only Bianchi has
arrived, so the jury is out on his abilities in this area. The big question
is should he spent £15m on buying the ground back or invest it in the team?

Lots of hilarious Saville & Istanbul chants from the home "support" 16k
attendance, be back down to 8 or 9 in a fortnight.

Ttfn

Richard
