Thar is not how it looked from the stands (though both Bianchi and Mowatt did
well) With Cook some of it is the way he just looks so comfortable on the ball.
As regards stats I saw someone post on waccoe the stats for Austinm a player
most fans think is a liability, his stats showed not only is he the best player
at the club but right up there with the best in the league for both tackles and
pass completion etc.
One thing with stats is they only show part of the story -under Hock we had
lots of possession. which looks good on paper but in reality it was mainly
pointless possession with the ball being passed sideways and backwards along
the back four. Someone like Batty always had 90% + completion rate, not just
because he was a good player but because most of his were short easy balls,
whereas McAllisters were nowhere near that because he tried difficult match
winning passes.
As the other poster said, in football the only stat that counts is the
scoreline !

Be happy that we are really hopeful of Cook becoming a Leeds great and that his
pressnce has led to Rich W giving Bianchi another chance and a re-assessment of
him

Dave

Seeing and hearing all the love Cook is getting after the match, I found it a
bit interesting comparing his stats with the other midfielders that completet
the match - especially Bianchi.

Cook had the lowest pass completed (73% vs Bianchi 88% and Mowatt 87%). He
also had the fewest passes in the game, 40 vs. Bianchi 68. Bianchi had 2
crosses, cook 0. Cook succeeded in 4 of his 9 longballs - Bianchi 5 of 7. Cook
did have 3 successfull dribbles - Bianchi 0, and we football fans surely love
the dribblers. Well - Cook was playing a more defensive role, so perhaps he
kicks Bianchis arse in that department. Well - NO. Bianchi had 4
interceptions to Cooks 2. Bianchi had 5 clearances (all considered
«effective»), Cook 0. BIanchi even blocked 2 shots - Cook 0. Both had 4
tackles in the game.

That said I don¨t doubt he had a great game. At least he must have looked very
good doing the few things he did ;)
