The second half was different again…apparently Redfern has said that Adryan is
only good for 65 minutes or so, so that needs working on…Austin coming on for
him was the obvious change. Bringing more of a battle to the midfield, but one
run and foul (on him) aside, he didn’t change things much. But in general we
were off the pace. If this is a fitness problem in November then you really do
wonder what has happened between the “never going to be fitter” days of
Hockaday and now. Whatever the root cause, we gave enough of sniff to Pool that
they gave it a bit of a go and got a goal - a free header from a big guy at a
corner - the worrying thing about it was he had a carbon copy chance 10 minutes
previously that he put wide…no one picked him up then and no one learned enough
to pick him up second time round. That’s just poor defensive organisation
probably down to Pearce or Cooper.

Despite getting the goal they never looked seriously like pulling it all back,
and we had a couple of very close scrambles where we could/should have extended
our lead.

We are a curate’s egg of a side at the moment.

Silvestri - steady again, little chance with the goal
Byram - vast improvement - is it down to someone having faith in him…
Warnock - cementing his place as first choice left back, steady in defence and
excellent going forward
Pearce - quietly efficient - loves the battling side of being a centre half -
will go toe to toe with those big guys all day
Cooper - great goal - solid defending
Cook - we all want him to be Batty mk2…and he does a good impression 75% of the
time…the other 25%, he loses possession and makes daft choices with his
passing…but he is young and that will change
Bianchi - quietly goes about doing a steady job, breaks up the opposition play,
passes it short, gets back in position
Mowatt - fizzed around everywhere for 60 minutes, great stuff linking with
Warnock and Adryan…anonymous after that
Adryan - pretty much as Mowatt, but he makes himself much more the focus of
attacking play for the team…also makes some good tackles tracking back
Antenucci & Doukara - lively, handfuls for the first 45…each taking another
goal…pulled Blackpool’s defence all over the shop…then second half, nothing.

Austin - didn’t bring a great deal to the game, but was steady enough
Tonge - on for the injured Bianchi (injured just about rescuing a bad
situation)…pretty much anonymous
Sharp - did nothing - people round us keep chuntering about replacing either of
the forwards with this guy…I don’t know why, either is better than him that’s
why he’s not starting.
