Another thing about Pearce was that OK I know he was a defender etc but he had an incredible propensity to fail to score from the easiest of positions whenever he went up for corners and stuff (very often during the closing minutes of games when we were drawing or one goal down.)
(Mind you...........just watch him go on a scoring run for Wigan now.)
