I'm not quite at that stage John but you'll have noticed by the lack of match
reports recently that I've opted for the pub for 2 out of the last 3 games and
last night I really didn't want to be there.
I think Redfearn's appointment and his faith in the youngsters has kept me
going this season but the last few weeks shenanigans has almost finished me off
... for this season at least. I've lost all interest which is something that
I've never experienced before. Maybe this is just an age thing ? The crowd last
night was actually pretty lively. Maybe it's just time for me to retire to my
armchair or local boozer.
The boxing was interesting ... there was a buzz in the pubs and the arena that
I've not experienced before and as I looked around every fucker was my age and
I know most still absolutely love Leeds but don't bother going much these days.
and Nick, yes Murphy was not the worst player last night but I just don't rate
the lad. He looks like a footballer but he just isn't.

Subject: [LU] Norwich
Well I predicted on here that we would lose 0 2 if Norwich did not get out of
second gear and 4 or 5 nil if they turned the screw. Well although I got the
scoreline right it was not quite that easy for them. We made them work hard for
the win and had them worried right till the second goal at the death. Well I
say worried, I think very slightly nervous would be nearer the mark, they just
got a bit jittery since they were only one goal up and were scared that somehow
they would throw 2 points away. As in the last 3 previous home games we have
nothing at all to worry teams with. Following on from 3 shots on Saturday we
were not quite so adventurous last night and settled for just the one shot - a
long range effort from Mowatt that took a deflection and led to a great save
from their keeper. That was all we had to show for 90minutes of football , and
, frankly, it is just not good enough. OK, Norwich, unlike Cardiff, are a good
team and they had to play quite well to beat us, but even though most of the
first half was played in their half of the pitch we never looked like creating
anything and they always looked dangerous on the break. We nearly gifted them
an opener when with the ball in the air Howson, with his back to goal, going
nowhere tried to get it under control and Cooper wrestled him to the ground.
Yes Howson went down very easily but it was a foul and therefore a penalty.
Luckily the lad blasted it as hard as he could and it hit the bar and rebounded
to safety. The ref then blew and no-one was quite sure for a second or two if
he was making them re-take it for some reason but thankfully it was for
offside. So 0 0 at half time, so far so good, although even then we could not
see how we would win so the game staying scoreless was the best we could hope
for. Then suddenly a run down our right and the ball came in to Johnny Howson
who controlled it and hit it with the outside of his boot giving the keeper no
chance - a good strike and Howson was muted in his celebrations. After that we
huffed and puffed a bit , never looked like scoring, made subs to no effect
(why give Montenegro 6 minutes - what can he show you in that amount of time)
They had a few breaks that could have sealed the game but then they began to
defend a bit deeper as they worried about letting it slip. They had no need to
worry, we went into injury time and a ball was clipped back from the byline and
the lad just hammered it home from just inside the area. Cue mass departures of
the Leeds fans.So 3 games in 10 days at ER, 3 defeats and less than 10 shots in
total in those games - fans losing patience with everything including some
grumbling about Redfearn and his tactics and subs.A bit disappointing to hear a
few boos for Howson - he did nothing wrong, he looked after himself and his
career. If he is to be booed then expect the same for Cook, Mowatt, Byram, and
Taylor in the next couple of yearsThe season cannot end quickly enough for
Leeds UnitedDave
