Fair enough - opinions and all that. However, I think you need to watch the game again. In the first half despite having a good amount of possession we failed to produce 1 shot on target ( apart from the goal of course).
I thought we showed good movement , good effort, good pressing and some promising counter attacking football but far too often the move would break down due to lack of ability. Look at Chris Wood's poor touch when nearly through on goal, look at Mowatt's set pieces, look at Byram failing to make any impression going forward and look at Abeyemi failing to string 2 passes together. The best thing we did was to win a few corners. Their keeper could have been sat in the stands having a pint. Second half and I'd say the first 25 minutes were the most one sided affair I've seen for years. Only surprise was that they didn't get 3 or 4. Sylvestri helping us out together with some good defending from Parker and Bamba. Their goal was just poor defending from Cooper which spoilt a decent performance from him. I thought they began to run out of stream and Rosler changed it so we had more counter attacking options, taking off the very ineffective Mowatt ( running in treacle again for most of the game and his great left foot is not so great at the moment - turning into a bit of a Mcphail for me at the moment). When we scored I thought we were back in the game but it needed a goal like that to win it. I am glad we now have a player who can do that . Actually we have two with Antenucci. Second half again we failed to produce a shot on target apart from the goal. So, you could look at this together with the stat of 5 games undefeated and think yes this is the year or you could reflect on the game and see it as a bit of a smash and grab and a game which showed out massive limitations al over e park. I'm 50:50. Oh I nearly forgot. Luke Murphy. Came on and played a lovely 50 hard ball through to their keeper, not a yellow shirt in sight. FFS how does this bloke earn a living out of this game. Scores from the armchair Sylvestri - 8. Kept us in it. Poor kicking at times. Beradi - 7. Did pretty well against some decent Derby left sided players ( Ince) Taylor - 7. I thought he did pretty well. Bamba -8 one or two moments but I thought he was out best defender. Crucial tackles at crucial points in the game. Cooper - 7. Weak for the goal. At very least Martin should have been brought down for their goal rather than letting him dance on the edge of our box. Mowatt - 4. Worked hard but he lacks acceleration and pace and his set pieces were a disgrace. Abeyemi - 6. Good goal but I think his general play his lacking at times. Cook - 8. Live wire. I don't think some of his team mates are in the same wavelength at times. Hi s end product needs to improve. Dallas - 7. Worked and ran hard and created the goal. I thought he was too isolated at times and would like to see Taylor pushing up. Wood - 7. Won the game, enough said but most of the time just looked like a lump. Antenucci - 7. Thought he made a massive difference enabling us to get out of our half. Murphy - 4. Tried to hold on to the ball but he really is a limited footballer. Rosler - changed the formation and the game at the right time. Leeds fans - loved the baiting of Ince. > On 29 Aug 2015, at 17:13, [email protected] wrote: > > Far too harsh I feel Rich.
