me too Dave. A good day on the beer spoiled again by the game.
After such a promising 2nd half at Wolves I was really looking forward to the
game but we were poor throughout. Evans didn't start with our best player
against Wolves ,, instead opting for Luke Murphy, who never offers anything. A
really poor decision in my book.
and then Evans blamed it all on getting back late after the Wolves game.
Unbelievable.
Oh well, we won.
On, on , on ....

I do not remember the last time I enjoyed a win so little and it was not just
me, the whole crowd were totally underwhelmed with the victory today. Up
against 10 men for over an hour, a 17 year old in their net, the strong wind in
our favour all second half and yet our keeper was the only one who made a save!
He made a lot more that one, and was probably our MOM. He had more of the ball
than anyone else on the pitch and pulled off at least 6 or 7 saves from the
everyday to the pretty decent. We began on the back foot and Silvestri was
called into action 3 or 4 times before a long ball hit over the top, ended with
Wood and the keeper coming together at the edge of the box. The far end from
where I am and we thought the ref blew for a foul (heard later it was handball
outside the area) No idea if the ref got it right but having blown for an
infringement it had to be a red and so it was.
Surely we would be able to beat a mid-table team at home with an extra man ?
Well we did, but only justWe bossed the last 15mins of the half and did things
right , keep the ball, pass it wide, use the extra man etc
Then it all went a bit wrong. We ran out of ideas and then the real game
changer, a great cross by Dallas was headed, under little pressure, into his
own net by a Preston defender Great , we all thought, this will be the game
when we score more than 2 at home and change our goal difference around.Instead
of that we  went to pieces. We did not know if to stick or twist, one minute
getting the ball forward too quickly, the next defending deeper and deeper. It
was not good to watch and we did not have a single real chance / shot all
second half. Instead we let them grow in confidence and all feared an
equaliser. It really was poor fare. They had so many booked that we expected
another red card but it never came and nothing we did seemed to work
The final whistle was even met with a few boos ! So 3 points but very
unconvincing and a day to forget in all other ways
Dave

We were pretty decent first half without enough end product. We just completely
stopped playing as soo‎n as we went ahead. Became horribly negative for no
reason against 10 men there for the taking.

Bridcutt and Murphy had good first halves.

Cooper had an encouraging willingness to pass out from the back (with Bridcutt
usually receiving).

I know Wood will get yet more abuse after today, but I want the bloke to do
well. He is trying.

Byram disappointed me and Cook needs a break at some point. He didn't look up /
make good decisions on a host of occasions today.

The last 15 mins just felt like a matter of time until Bellusci dropped a goal
conceding clanger. Amazingly never happened.

Win's a win though. Top of the bottom half!

Our man of the match was Silvestri...7, yes I counted them, goal stopping
saves...no one else came half as close to doing their job.
