I think the most telling (And, hopefully, promising) thing about us at the
moment is ... We've not heard anything from MC.
When we got Monkey Boy I was pleased as I think he is a very good, young,
hungry coach/manager with something to prove following his departure from
Swansea. However that was, as it has been since MC took over, undermined
by the worry that he'd not get chance to actually make a difference. When
we started badly, I just thought the inevitable was going to happen and
sort of looked on through my fingers at the oncoming car crash. Then we
started to fluke/sneak/whatever those back to back wins and I breathed a
sigh of relief as it surely bought GM something we all realise is
absolutely key, time.
As RW rightly says, we're now doing what is right, we're starting at the
back. IF, we can stay the course and be in touch in January, then a couple
of quality signing could well push us into the play offs. No reason we
can't. I agree with a lot of the sentiments about us not being ready, but
surely the only way to then build on that is to get up, even if it is
straight back down, to secure some money to improve. Past glories aside
(As in, we're a 'bigger' club!), I think we can look at Burnley as an
example, the plan HAS to be longer term. No pain, no gain.
Anyway, I'm enjoying this season more than any since it went pop. We're at
least competitive again, we DO have a bloody good manager in place and I'm
just hoping things stay relatively stable for a while. However, this is
Leeds United!!! ....
