Wow Rich - pretty sure that is the exact eleven i said it would be - ha !
I thought Bridcutt looked good on Wednesday and he may be able to adjust to
playing further forward. It will be interesting to see if he stays - we have 5
for the 2 defensive midfield positions - maybe one more than needed ?
Green will not stay if he can find someone in this division who will play him
every week - he did well enough last year to show he is still good enough, it
is more our new style that is against him, this throwing it out quickly from
the back etc
Antonsson showed a couple of things to suggest he is decent but never got a
real chance here and not likely too now he is behind Ekuban as well as wood -
puts him 3rd in line for one position, plus there is a lot of talk about us
getting someone in from Germany. I think Doukara is also out of the picture and
will be moved on if possible - Antonsson is no great loss, perhaps if he does
well at Blackburn we can either get our money back for him or we can take him
back next season if we are not promoted and Wood (and TC) have gone ?

TCs Presser;
Bridcutt & Klich haven't made the match day squad - "Tactical Decision"
TC says Green is still injured but wants him to stay and fight for his
position.
Pennington and Berardi will be out for a while.
Antonsson off to Blackburn season long loan
Saiz stll needs physical fitness work.
In view of the above and the don't change a winning team meme, my starting 11?
Wiedwald
Ayling Jannson Cooper BJ
Alioski O'Kane Phillips Hernandez
Roofe
Wood
I'd prefer Vieria in there, but I can't see Phillips being dropped and without
O'K it all looks a little inexperienced?

Well, we'll see in about 27 hours! - but your point about real competition for
every place is a very good one, let's see which players push themselves out of
their comfort zone. I suppose the only downside is that the competition can
affect the team spirit adversely?

Sorry to disappoint lads, but TC will stick with the same starting XI as at
Bolton except Pennington and Berardi are injured so will be replaced by Jansson
and Borthwick-JacksonNo chance of Green being picked and whilst i, like most
fans, think Vieira is better than Phillips I do think he did enough at Bolton
to keep his place. As for Saiz, whilst you may expect his hat trick on
Wednesday and his all round performance to warrant a place, TC's comments about
getting him ready for this league suggests otherwise.
So whilst Saiz, Bridcutt and Vieira all did their cause some good on Wednesday
I doubt they will be chosen - what it will mean is that the likes of O'Kane,
Phillips, Roofe and Hernandez had better be on their game, because any drop in
their performance will mean they will be dropped To be fair every single player
(Pontus and Cooper excepted till Pennington is fit) is playing for his place
every game and has an able deputy just waiting for the chance -
Wiedwald has Green behind him - Ayling and Borthwick J have Berardi, when fit,
and Anita breathing down their neck. The 2 in midfield know Vieira Bridcutt and
the highly rated Klitch are just waiting for a chance. The wingers (Roofe and
Alioski) need only look on the bench to see Sacko and Dallas chomping at the
bit. Hernandez will have watched Saiz on Wednesday and worry his own days are
numbered.
Even Wood is under some pressure from Ekuban , who scored one and laid on
another on Wednesday , so a long dry run and Wood will be dropped For the first
time in a long time we have genuine competition for places all over the team

Beradi and Pennington are knackered
So Cooper would come in For Pennington. I like you team though could we get
away with playing Hernandez and Saiz ? (Hernandez instead of Bridcutt in tour
line up). Personally I'd play Bridcutt in front of Philips despite his 2 goals
but that aint going to happen.

Green
Ayling Pennington Jannson B-J
Alioski Vieria Bridcutt Phillips Saiz
Wood
Hate to leave Beradi out, but Borthwick-Jackson looks pretty good going forward
