It's not the just the guardian and BBC reporting this (some of the only western journalists on the ground) , but the EU, UN, MSF & the vast majority of NGO's who have worked in the country, Amnesty have been very vocal, so I'm afraid your argument that it's some lefty snowflake conspiracy doesn't wash. And also, while it's true a few years ago Aung San Suu Kyi was the darling of the left, it's they who have been very vocal in their condemnation of her lack of action on the genocide and the actions of a minority of powerful Buddhist nationalist groups.
