We've been numbed into senselessness by the World Cup Rich - so many sh*te
teams, boring football, and diving, cheating, moaning and general wankishness
on a level even I've not witnessed before. Plus, the really boring big teams -
Portugal, Spain, Brazil are scraping through, and maybe Argentina too. And as
for VAR - f*ck me, when you've got a batch of showroom dummies lined up in
their perfect refs kit, but getting nowhere near the pitch, you just know
they're determined to make a name for themselves. You might as well have a
dartboard with 10 Yes, 10 No on it and get a chimp to throw arrows at it - it'd
be no less efficient. It really is time we had a repeat of the Cameroon/Canigia
moment re Ronaldo, and someone scythed the f***er down and put him out of the
comp! I'm hoping a plucky Uruguayan is already sharpening his studs!
Aaaaannnnyyywayyyyy - re Bielsa, I think it's pretty exciting but there needs
to be some transfer activity, and that definitely means shipping out the duds.
He'll need to be some coach to turn many of that squad into promotion
contenders, but I live in hope until about 60 minutes into the season - then
we'll know!
If he wants to invigorate Elland Rd he could do worse than try and get that big
lump of a Russian forward - old school indeed, but can play a bit! OK, he'd get
sent off a few times, but he could be our new Ian Baird.

I particularly enjoyed this....almost as much as how close to croppers
Spain and Portugal came tonight.....

"if Leeds hope to reinvent the wheel, Bielsa’s comments gave the impression
that he will try to reinvent it with tactics and innovation, rather than a
multitude of transfers."

For too many years now imo fans and managers alike have bleated under the
apprehension that buying in players is the solution, the quick fix even -
players of likely similar ability (or why else would they be signing for a
club at our level) who have not (yet) gelled with us - rather than coaching
the ones that we have into better players and a better team.

I'm daring to get excited that interesting times may lie ahead.
