I do think that could be the end of our auto promotion hopes - Sheff U WILL
beat Ipswich at home, so somehow they need to drop points v Hull or Stoke away
Ideally they will draw / lose at Hull and we then beat Brentford away (no easy
feat) then we still have to beat Villa at home to make sure we go in v Ipswich
in pole position
There is no way on earth we can overturn the goal diference so we have to get
more points from them in what , on paper, are trickier games
So can we win the play offs ?
As it stands it will be semi v Boro with whom we have drawn twice this season
and then, if we do manage to scrape past them, we will play West Brom or Villa
both of whom have better players than us, notwithstanding the results against
them, and both of whom are in better form, so even before considering our
appalling record in play offs finals ( P3 L3) and in finals in general (lost
last 8 or 9 I think it is) it is a task that could be beyond us !
Although I am pig sick and totally down at present there is still a glimmer of
hope and however it ends up it has been a good season and one which has brought
the fans flooding back and put us back on the map and re-connected the club,
the fans and the city, and I know back in August us being in 3rd spot on goal
difference with 3 to go was just a dream !
Keep the faith

A couple of things from yesterday…

both of their goals came from “Cooper’s area” of the defence, for the first one
Alioski (who had a stinker) slipped…for the second Pontus had charged out to
make a challenge in the play leading up to the cross which meant their big guy
was jumping against Forshaw…

I also think that the subbing of Roberts and Phillips at half time took away
our momentum…Forshaw didn’t replace Phillips, all that happened was Pablo
dropping deeper and deeper to collect the ball from the keeper…

…and I’m not even sure it was a penalty…

Bamford took his goal well…

…as for everything else, this was a real punch in the guts, even a draw would
have been OK…fucking Leeds.
