Like Rich, I was surprised how many there we left, but I guess it was only 9.20! I remember away goals counting in the early days of the play-offs, but only after extra time. If anyone is old enough to remember, Mickey Adams late goal at Oldham in 1987. Some Leeds fans did a mini pitch-invasion thinking that had put us through, but we actually had to wait through another 30 mins of extra time before the 'away goal' counted. IMO that is the right way to use away goals, i.e. only after extra time has been tried first. I guess it interferes with travel plans in European Games, but they can still go to extra time under the present system, just not as often. Must admit that it did add to the drama last night knowing that a Spurs goal would put them through, not just equalise.
