I watched on Facebook whilst trying to supervise 4 kids at Stockheld Park. As
you can imagine my parenting skills were called into question.
It was a good game to watch but despite the brilliance of the result and the
way we continued to break and look for goals I felt pretty pissed off for long
periods of the game as our defence and midfield was totally over powered by an
aggressive Brum team. It was good that we caught them cold in the first 20 mins
because after that I thought they dominated and our midfield for the second
time in a week were outplayed, outclassed and out fought. This led to our
defence being on the back foot for long periods. We play Philips to give us
that protection in front of the back four but when he plays against players
with pace and creativity he’s left for dead. Anyone who thinks Philips is
anything other than an average championship midfielder is not watching the
games closely enough.
From what was the most solid defence in the league we’re now look very
vulnerable especially against set pieces. However, if you think back we really
haven’t defended set pieces well all season and have been lucky at times to
concede more.
Our keeper was terrible yesterday- the way he came for their 3rd was non-league
standard and what the hell he was doing for 2 of the other goals. You can’t
plan for mistakes like that.
Ayling got all the headlines for his goal and attacking runs that won us the
game but his defending and passing were woeful.
So whilst it’s amazing to be top of the league at the end of the year and 9
points clear of 3rd I think the next few games will define our season. Bielsa
has work to do.

I had to stop watching on pc just as brum scored  to make it  2-2 to pick up a
rental van, switched to mobile and just saw Bill score as I went into the
rental office, commiserate with arse fan behind the desk, turned it off to fill
in paperwork, saw it was 4-4 as I got in van very pissed off.  Didn't see the
final result til I got to traffic light, but wasn't really 100% sure as I
didn't have my reading glasses on. Happy days.

While the game was on I was travelling back from spending Christmas week with
my mum, and once I was back I thought I might as well avoid the score until I
saw the highlights on Quest. Can you just imagine intensity of having that
roller-coaster condensed into a couple of minutes without knowing the result?
I was sitting head in hands when the showed their very late equaliser to make
it 4-4, thinking we'd thrown it away again, then...hang on, they're showing
another Leeds attack...

Other results better then we could have hoped,  shock, defeat for west brom,
Sheffield wed, Preston and to an extent Bristol
Top of league at the end of the decade- according to a mate we have done that
every decade since the 80s ?
