The epitome of this performance was when, in the 94th minute, we're 3-0 up, we
still steam forward and have a breakaway where 7 players charge up the pitch
together and we have a 7v4 situation, as the Villa squad had given up by then.
If Harrison had just laid it back to one of the 4 players lined along the edge
of the box it would have been 4-0.

Absolutely!

I can't get the image out of my head (not that I'm trying very hard!) of us
streaming forward with 5 or 6 players combining, gorgeous passes and
one-touches, Vanilla players floundering in our wake.

The 1st goal, for example..........replays of it only show the move from
near the halfway line, but actually it began right next to our corner flag
with Costa in a tight situation and a difficult bouncing ball. Almost every
other player in the league would have just launched the ball up the
touchline to buy time and let the defence regroup. And every other manager
would have told him to do that. Not Bielsa though. Within seconds, and
probably no more than 10 touches, the ball was in the back of the Vanilla
net!

And yeah, Rodrigo! I would just have had Harrison edging Rodrigo as MoM,
but the Spaniard was superb. And he cost less than Watkins!

Re the 3rd goal..........a lot of people have said that Mings was at fault
for not closing Bamford down. But that goal was a vindication of the Bielsa
style. The pass-and-move football we play is so draining on opponents. I
think it was Shackleton who was running in behind Mings. mings expected
Bamford to pass, so he stood off and prepared to slide back to deal with
the pass. And Bamford showed the brilliance there of a good footballer;
following the simple dictum - if you see your opponent expects you to do
one thing, do something else.

So it is quite clear now: the only way to stop this wonderful team of ours
is to adopt the Wigan approach, which is what Wolves did. It will be
fascinating to see if the likes of Leicester & Arse dare to try to attack
us or just sit back in a low block.
