I met Lorimer a few times.....sat with him through a match at Palace one
year. Very nice man.

I am STILL furious about his stolen goal in Paris. Apart from winning us
the match (which I have no doubt it would have BC their 2 late goals would
never have happened) he would have set a record as the only player to have
scored in every round of the European Cup.

I think my favourite Lorimer goal was v Man City when he tried to lift the
ball over a defender 25 yds from goal...... the ball clipped the lads
shoulder and looped up in the air so he thought bugger it and just lashed
an incredible dipping volley past Corrigan into the top corner.

I also loved his unique penalties.......he would just blast it basically at
the keeper but wd slice across it slightly to send it into the top corner.

Re Fulham I thought the 2nd goal was superb......some lovely touches from
Bamford and Raphinha.
