HAPPY NEW YEAR and it was indeed a Happy new year as we won the game we needed
to win, and deserved it.
Firpo proved he may have something to offer, klich ( second half) proved he is
not finished, and Harrison and Ayling proved they are getting back to the
players we know. Finally Joffy proved he is a real talent with another great
cameo. He reminded me of early Alan Smith in so much as he was a young lad not
afraid to go up against the bigger boys,  and showed the opposition no respect,
 brilliant
On the down side Robert's proved,if further proof were needed, that he is just
not going to do it at Leeds,  2 bad misses both of which he should have scored,
a tame shot straight at the keeper and a header that he put wide when it really
was easier to score
Burnley came, as expected to shit house and time waste from minute one. Lads
near me were going apoplectic when the keeper put his towel and drink miles
away from the post, they knew it was just to waste time later on. His time
wasting was so blatant to all but the very weak referee that the fans started
counting out the seconds every time he had the ball- 19 'seconds ' was the
longest.  As I say the ref was weak, letting them,  especially Wood , push our
players as the ball came over. Their equaliser came from such a push, woods in
the back of Ayling, which let the ball fall to the other attacker who Llorente
then pulled down . The wall was badly placed and allowed his great strike to go
in for an equaliser against the run of play.
Then followed an incident that will get us into trouble ( along with Brentford
game) the Burnley players ran towards our fans giving it large and inciting
some idiot with a good arm to throw a plastic bottle right on one of their
heads. Yes stupid and indefensible but why are players allowed to incite fans
like that? Take off your shirt, leave the field to celebrate with your own fans
and you get a yellow,  but go to opposition fans ( city did the same v Arsenal
with the same result- a barrage) and give it the big one and nothing happens.
Sorry but " chat shit, get banged" as they say round here.

Anyway back to the game, at times the Bielsa Leeds of old, some great play,
total control of the game but not many goals to show for it and risk of losing.
In addition to Robert's 2 bad misses, Raph skinned the bar with an audacious
long range shot and fired another into the side netting , then missed a sitter
second half, Firpo came close with a clever back flick as we dominated
Our first came when Harrison dispossessed the defender, ran at the goal and
fired at the keeper , he was alert enough to then poke the rebound into the
net. 1 nil at half time.
Their goal rocked us a bit but then Klich showed he still has it, he had a
couple of crosses that led to a corner,  taken short by Raph who gave it Klich
who rolled it perfectly into the path of Dallas, it was just screaming to be
hit, and Dallas did the business-  a great finish.
Joffy and James had been brought on just after the equaliser and they nearly
combined for a goal, James sprinting down the wing and joffy getting on the end
of his cross but defence and keeper just did enough to prevent a goal
Then right at the end Klich won the ball and beat another man to feed Joffy,
he looked up and picked out Dan James who bravely put his head among a flying
boot, the header hit the keeper but the spin was kind to us and went over the
line 3-1 and a score that reflected the game.
Great stuff and still without the spine of the team, Cooper, KP and Bamford (
plus Rodrigo and Struik)
Yesterday wont be enough on it's own but it wont half help in our battle to
stay up, same result v Newcastle in our next home game and we can maybe relax
just a bit
So I will finish as I began - a Happy New Year

Dave
