I was at the ground for the first time since promotion...........WHAT A DAY!!!!!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Excellent report from Dave. We were sat directly in line with Raphinha's chip...........it looked in all the way but just drifted over at the last second. There was a very strong wind blowing from the Scratching Shed end and I think that might have just wafted it over the bar. Perhaps luckily...........I think I might have died if it had gone in! I was thrilled with the performance of Firpo.........by miles his best performance in a white shirt, and importantly he was good defensively as well as attacking. I am a fan of Roberts and he was pivotal in us finally getting going after a very worrying and shaky first 15 mins. He did some great pressing and showed some really classy touches around the middle third. But his finishing was absolutely woeful. As well as the game, I loved the post-match scenes when 3 little boys ran on the pitch because they just wanted to hug Ayling & Dallas! Ayling had already given away his shirt and warmup top I think and you could see him telling the kid sorry, I can't give you me shorts!
