Well we ended up with the draw nobody wanted- having said that with 5 mins to go I asked if anyone wanted Plymouth to score ( and win) it was a resounding “no”This was a game that should have been over by half time but saves from the keeper from Piroe Ampadu and Georgie plus Anthony hitting the post and Gnontos follow up hitting the bar it meant we only had the one goal - but what a goal . Anthony cut in between 2 defenders, best a third and hammered home ( similar to his other goal for us )Most people think he did well but one of mates followed up his “ get off your shit comment “ on Wednesday with more of the same - game of opinions. There was however total agreement that neither Gnonto nor Piroe did anything to suggest they should be first choice next matchEqually Poveda did not do anything - reminds me of Peter Taylor from n his book saying he would not have let clough sign Duncan McKenzie because he was a “ circus performer “ - I think McKenzie was much more than that but it fits Poveda to a tee They came more into it second half without creating much - byram headed one off the line and they cut us open a bit to score Bamford nearly scored with his first touch , a great header well saved and then again near the end when the keeper fumbled it So overall not a great performance or result ( great crowd of over 35,000- I remember when cup games were half that ) and an extra game miles away that we don’t need , made worse by the fact it means we play Plymouth 3 times in a short space of time - never good for players as little niggles and arguments between them tend to get carried over Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
