Well that was as easy as it gets - so easy that DF was able to give a run out to 2 young lads ( chambers and crew) plus the veteran with the unpronounceable name , whose every touch was cheered and every pass went to a Leeds player - a promising start for him but hard to judge against such poor opposition.They were the worst team I’ve seen for a good few seasons - it looked like a cup game v opponents from a lower league and it was soon just a matter of how many we would win by. They had no shots and no corners and no clue. Our goal on the half hour mark was from another corner - ball cleared to Gnonto who laid it off to James to fire home from outside the area. 5 minutes later it was game over - as a ball into the area fell to Piroe who poked home - a few glances at the lino by me and others but it was ok. The 3rd and as it turned out , final, goal was when a ball came into the box - Piroe back heeled it but instead of going behind him it hit the defender and went forward to Aaronson who hit home for his 4th (?) of the season - he is making a difference Second half was a non event but we cruised to victory with no scares - giving a bit of respite for Wednesday night - and letting the 3 fringe players get a run out .It allowed the crowd to give the hapless Rooney some stick about grannies, his weight and the fact that we are getting him sacked again Rothwell and Tanaka contrinued to impress - DF will have hard decisions when Amps and Gruev are back This showed the gulf in class between us and the lower half of the division - we need to take advantage of it A nice fourth goal in the dying minutes would have been the icing on the cake but I don’t want to be greedy - this was an excellent professional performance and another 3 pointsTo quote the square ball lads “ HMS Piss the League “ is full steam ahead Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
