I sort of understand it.
If Sinisterra cost £25m on a 5 year contract - that cost/value would be
split £5m per year.
So after the end of this season he'd be deemed to be worth £15m.
So if we sell him for £20m, then we'd be showing £5m profit for FFP
If we let him go for nothing - we'd have to right off the £15m left.
So at a guess and depending on how they are doing - we might be making a
profit if we got rid of;
Sinisterra - Talk recently that Bournemouth were interested in a
permanent move
Harrison - Any regular premier league starter is worth £20m - just a
shame he's at a club with no money
Wober / Roca - have 2 years less on their contracts and seem to be
playing so we could probably break even
Llorente plays but Roma arent going to pay much
Arronson and Kristensen are the biggest issues - as cant see anyone
wanting them. So its take them back or write off the value. Probably
more on Jesse than Orta for them.
I think Boro have an option to buy for Greenwood at a pretty low price
-so he'll go as well
Koch and Drameh out of contract at end of season - so no issues
I think Harrison was pretty blameless the way the club treated him last
year, so would welcome him back - Sini is good enough but burned his
bridges - and imagine Farke wants a clean slate anyway. If we dont go
up - sounds like we will need to sell, and that probably makes
Summerville most likely due to have no transfer fee to pay back.
One interesting thing from the weekend - Boro v Sunderland - who are
both play-off contenders featured 3 loanees from Leeds - none of whom
were near our squad. Ayling, Hjelde, Greenwood. Does suggest that even
with the turmoil of the last year - we still have much better squad than
most of our competitors.
