Obviously going up is the best option. I was just ruminating a bit in my
previous post. But the fact remains it is a daunting prospect. (And i have
enjoyed not having world class strikers padding their career records at our
expense this season!)

I think everybody assumes and expects that the 49ers will spend big if we
do get up. I know Farke believes he was let down twice by the Norwich
board, and i believe the figure of 150 m has been bandied about. But it's
not that easy to buy players who will really make a difference.

I know it is fashionable to slam poor old Victor Orta these days, but
really we made pretty good signings (on paper) last time. Obviously
Raphinha & Adams were great signings (and Wober was pretty good.) But the
likes of Rodrigo, Llorente, Aaronson, Kristensen & Roca were all absolutely
in the category of signing we needed.............and we all approved of
them at the time. We can be prepared to pay more this time, but players of
a higher level will not be interested in joining a lower mid-table (at
best) club.

Looking at it optimistically, maybe the problem with all those
under-achievers mentioned above was Marsch's moronic coaching............so
if we can buy a similar batch perhaps Farke can make something of them.
