Whilst accepting this season has been lightyears ahead of the last 2 seasons,
in terms of football played, our squad, manager etc, it’d be very unambitious
to wish for another season or two like it in the Championship, just because
it’d be an easier watch.

Yes, there’s trepidation about what lies ahead - you only have to consider how
Burnley stormed the Championship last season and viewing their league position
now? But, like everyone, we’re in a stronger position in every sense,
especially regarding ownership. I expect the 49’ers to bankroll the club to try
and cement a mid-table place - in fact if they won’t/can’t then why are they
here? I also expect them to get cracking on the ground expansion pretty much
immediately on promotion, as that is one of the ways to cement the £income
stream.

The first torture of course may be the bloody play-offs though - I’d prefer us
to finish 7th if we’re going to lose to Sunderland/Boro in the play-offs :-)

I’m not entertaining the idea of automatic promotion yet - too soon for that?
