I think you are being a little over-negative Robert.

Whereas broadly speaking you are right - there are actually 3 groups of
players who can be tempted to the club.

The youngsters and the "foreigners" as you rightly point out (and I'm
hoping that we'll see at least 3 new players from across these groups), but
there is also the third group that you left out - the seasoned top-class
player who is beginning to see the end of his career looming but still has
a good couple of years left that he doesn't want to waste sat on, say,
Manchester United's bench. We need to sign the 2024 Gordon Strachan or
Bobby Collins.

A player like that plus our current squad plus at least 3 hopefuls and
we'll be in good shape.
