I am a long time list reader and even longer LUFC supporter (~60 years) from Australia and would have to agree with " Supporting Leeds United is just committing to a life of disappointment". I am currently on a small ship (~75 passengers) in the Southern Ocean off the Australian south coast and met a couple who are originally from Leeds about 50 years ago and still have the accent! When I said I was a supporter of Leeds United the response was "You have our sympathy". I think that sums up what supporting LUFC means. But I will continue with what time I have left and hope for some success for the team.

I said to my dad with five minutes to go yesterday, words to the effect of, "You know they're going to score, it's just a question of how." (I also told him a few minutes before that, "It's the hope that kills.") Supporting Leeds United is just committing to a life of disappointment. We've achieved what I would call something worth celebrating (a trophy won or a promotion gained) only five times in 51 years of support. In that time we have never, ever won a knock-out tournament. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ Dave Dowden, a legend, a Totty Twin, a pie man!
