never change

Another great Friday night in Leeds. Evening started comically as a fight
nearly broke out on the P2  is becoming a bit of a farce these days. Everyone
thought this was going to be a difficult match but it just wasn't and I thought
they were the worst team we've played this season. In fact, I don't think we've
played a good team yet and I think we are the best team in the league and will
piss it this time around. Hamer, who everyone moaned like hell when we didn't
up our offer, was shite and was dragged off by Wilder. Keifer Moore, "the
gangly cunt up front who will definitely score" (beautiful description from my
mate) was absolute dogshit and did nothing. Total donkey. They didn't create
anything in the whole match. But maybe that was because we were so impressive. I
think everyone played well but you had to be mainly impressed with the 2 new
midfielders Tanaka and Rothwell. Strangely, the injuries to Gruev and Ampedu
seem to have made us more adventurous which is definitely a good thing.
Rothwell was my man of the match. I like the way he doesn't always play the
easy pass and this makes us less predictable in our build up. I'm still a bit
concerned that against a better team his defensive abilities may come into
question but last night he was great. Takana is my sort of player, very
Battyesque. Does all the simle things effectively and neatly and looks to
always be available to keep the team ticking along. Love him. We scored a goal
from a corner - a shit corner as well, or was it ? Rothwell fired in a low
cross, the type of corner that is normally cleared at the near post but there
was Struijk to banjo it into the top of the net. What a goal and bedlam in the
stands followed. Friday night and 5 pints beforehand helped that.We then
started to turn on Wilder. "Wilder is a wanker' sang by everyone including a
young girl near us who cannot have been older than 13. Good lass, they teach
the young-uns well in Leeds ! I thiought it might have been a bit premature and
I envisaged Wilder having hte last laugh but that was never gonna happen
because they were clueless. Maybe they just had an off night ? If they didn't,
they are going down ! The 2nd goal came from Joseph and wasn't it great to see
us first bring on Dan James and Solomon (that's not a bad subs bench duo) and
then follow it with Joseph and Bamford. Joseph did very well, by getting goal
side of the defender and holding him off to slot past the keeper. I believe
Piroe provided the pass as he was moved back to no 10. Where should he play ?
Final whistle and massive celebrations all round. Bus back into Leeds (nobody
was annoyed on that bus) and a few pints of Yorkshire Blonde in the Hop. You
just can't beat nights like this !
Scores:
Meslier - 7. Literally had nothing to do and I mean nothing.
Bogle - 8. I thought he was really trying hard to get one over on them. He was
booed by the Blades fans with every touch in the first half.
Firpo - 8. Another good performance. When he's not defending he's good.
Rodon - 9. Fantastic ! Commanding and just in a different league to the gangly
cunt up front for them.
Struijk - 9. Great goal.
Takana - 9. The new Batty !
Rothwell - 9. Was everywhere. I thought he was a journeyman , I think I was
wrong.
Gnonto - 7. Didn't look too happy to be subbed and was definitely one of his
quieter nights.
Largie - 8. In and out of the game but when he was in he was good and created
some good chances first half. I like this lad, just needs to find a bit of
consistency in games.
Piroe - 7. For me, he is off the pace for a lot of the game but he's good on
the ball and we know he knows where the net is. I'm still not sure he's worth
his place in the starting line up but I know many disagree with me.
Aaronson - 7, Worked hard and was effective at times but a bit like Largie he
needs to be more consistent.
Subs:
Joseph - 8. Great goal
All the rest didn't do much.
