Replacing the keeper in Jan is a tough one I agree. I guess the question is how confident are the club that Meslier won’t make any more howlers. The team helped him out massively after the Sunderland game - I think the following match he didn’t face a shot on target and it had all been forgotten about by the next game. They could bring someone in and it could all go to shit but personally I’d rather they acted than just stick and hope for the best. I test Blackburn’s resolve for Pears or as you say look at premier league back ups.

However, how do you replace a keeper in Jan ? Darlow would be a disaster and introducing a PL keeper who is currently sat on the bench would be risky. Difficult one ! I agree that Ampadu was poor yesterday and he really unsettled the whole defence. Wober also didn’t help at times. Very disappointing result. Still top though. Based on today's game you've just dropped Ampadu for starters, then there's the two stood holding hands in the six yard box for the third. I'm not saying Meslier is the best in the world, not even close but I bet he's the best in this division. Even, some of the best in the world have made what we call mistakes but kept their place in successful sides, Grobbelaar, Barthez, Seaman, Lukic, Sprake....
