Gnonto's one of a worrying number of players who have gone backward under
Farke. Others include Bamford, Gelhardt, Joseph and Meslier. Even Ampadu this
season seems a poor imitation of the rock of reliability we came to appreciate
last season.

You would think that he would tear up this league but he’s not really taken his
chance when he’s played and you’d have to say Farke sees him as third choice
winger behind James and Solomon.

For me, a very dull game, with our second stringers having even less nous
around the box than the first xi. Feel for Joseph - he’s no Alan Smith, but a
bigger issue is he’s not even Tommy Wright or Aiden Butterworth - he never
looks like he’ll score? Given Gnonto’s one-trick approach, we either need to
stick him at no 9 for a few games, or re-introduce him to the bench?
