I said EXACTLY the same last night Nick about 2 Farke teams - it was like a game of chess as football, and aside from a bit of pace there often wasn’t much between the teams. Aside from the 3 points, there was zilch to recommend that game. Scoring after 31 seconds meant we instantly went into ‘hang on’ mode too - it’s as far from Bielsa-ball/excitement as it’s possible to get, but unless something goes badly wrong it’s going to get us promoted. As I also said last night, you’d have to be one hell of an optimist to think these tactics will work in the Premier League?
It sounded deathly quiet on tv, and a couple of times I just wandered off so tedious was it. I’m amazed the crowd doesn’t chant Attack Attack Attack for the full 90 minutes to get the message across - if this bore to win approach was a one-off against the odd opponent fair enough, but it’s every chuffing game, and it’s sucking any enjoyment out of watching games for me.
