All things being equal (which they're not of course) I'd prefer Kalvin Phillips to Declan Rice. But our team has moved on a long long way since he left and I can't see how he would ever fit in today. Perhaps Rodon is the only player who could possibly be dropped for him but Bielsa tried 3 or 4 times with KP as a centre back and I don't remember it ever working.
I always liked Kelvin Phillips - even in his early days - and I hope it all goes well for him but I think that he'd be better off at Ipswich or West Ham than at Leeds however welcome he would be.
