After today we can start to believe, whilst Sheff U were falling to their 3rd straight defeat, we totally annihilated a Preston team under our ex manager Heckingbottom This was a great performance only spoiled by failing to capitalise on all our great chances.Piroe who is so often anonymous but chips in with a goal has shifted 180 degrees , he ran around putting in a shift and linking up play but could not hit a barn door, 2 shots went just past the post, a header went wide another great chance was blocked, and somehow he hit the bar from close range when it seemed he must score. Rodon missed when it was easier to score, Solomon put one in the side netting, Arronsen brought a good save from the keeper and gnonto had one saved as we totally dominated from start to finish We took it to them from the off with the very impressive Solomon ( my joint man of the match with Bogle ) getting us off to a flyer with a great finish. Unfortunately we were rocked a bit within 2minutes as their lad rinsed Firpo and finished brilliantly himself. So 1-1 with less than 8 minutes gone We recovered from the set back with what proved to be the winner when a lovely cross by Solomon was bundled into the net by Bogle nipping in between 2 defenders After that it was a question of will we get a 3rd and kill it, will they snatch an equaliser from nothing or would we hang on.Thankfully as news came in of Plymouths winner we did hang on to a well deserved 3pts and real daylight between us and 3rd place. 5 points with 4 to play.It was a completely comprehensive victory with the side (unlike the fans) showing few nerves and never panicking A special mention to Darlow who had no chance for their goal but who caught the ball well from corners, pulled off one excellent save and looked very assured throughout ( bar one error when he came flying out of the area and gave away a dangerous free kick,well headed away by Arronsen So things are looking good, its not over yet by any stretch but we look back on track as Sheffield collapse-who is falling apart again ??
