I was in Scotland by then and we barely had long wave radio. I tried to
find a way of getting the result and the good old BBC came through for
me. For some reason the North Shore of the Cromarty Firth could receive
a crackly signal from er, BBC radio Kent. I nearly paid my licence fee!
I found a gushing match report here starring mssrs Varadi, Speed and
lovely Chrissie Fairclough.
