I am struggling to remember a game worsethan this one, as a spectacle it was
atrocious,  to think fans pay £50 or more to watch this total anti football non
event. As Rich says it is hard when one team just sets out to spoil and time
waste and the other team has no clue how to counteract it .The ball was
supposedly in play for 50 of the allocated 106 minutes - that is terrible and
apart from adding time on ( 12 minutes second half) the ref let then get away
with it. So an awful game to watch with zero entertainment The result is the
worst for a few seasons - at least our other home defeats have been against
good teams ( or in spurs case a team we thought were good) this was against a
poor team who we were expecting to beat . Pre game the general vibe was we
would win and almost secure our place for next season now we are looking
nervously at other results.  As if the lack of entertainment and the bad result
was not enough we had to put up with the worst of VAR .In the first half ,
shown on the TV in the concourse , Struijk was pretty much assaulted at a
corner , he was almost clotheslined, grabbed by the neck and flung to the
floor- absolute 100% nailed on penalty,  except the ref missed it and VAR
ignored it . Maybe we shouid have all surrounded the ref and hounded him as
Sunderland dud for the two VARS that went their way? Or perhaps teams should be
allowed a referral like in cricket,  either way it was shocking.VAR of course
then did look at Amps   handball,  to me I can just about see why they gave it
, though not sure it was clear and obvious enough to overule the ref,  but if
that's a pen so was the one we didn't get v man City. What's the point of VAR
if it both misses obvious stuff and is so inconsistent and still has fans
disagreeing So all in all a total nightmare of an evening,  let's hope it's a
blip since most of  our team was under par / dreadful . We need to play to 100%
every game not just against the good teams.  We still have enough games that we
should win to ensure safety but last night was poor in every aspect Roll on
Norwich and a bit of light relief and a step closer to Wembley

What a thoroughly miserable Tuesday night out. Weird kick off time and weird
match. Atmosphere was terrible and I had to endure the Mackems in the West
Stand lapping it up. It was as if we'd turned the clock back to those horrible
championship games where we had all the possession but no idea. Sideways and
backwards passes, striker isolated and our only attacking option was asking our
left back to beat 4 men and put the ball into the box. At least in the
championship we had wingers that could dig us out of trouble. Last night, the
sight of Bogle and Aaronsson trying to push forward was painful. A lot of it
was down to the way they played and spoiled the game as well as defending well
but why didn't Farke change things at half-time ? When Gnonto and James were on
the pitch late on we definitely troubled them. The time wasting and cheating was
disgraceful especially the 20th minute goalkeeper 'injury' which was blatant.
The Maggot's boss knew it was working for them and just told him to go down.
Got to stop this somehow cos it's happening on a weekly basis. Haven't seen the
pen back yet and don't really want to. Ampadu had a stinker and played the
worst ball of the season as he looked for Bogle on the right wing and put it
into the press box in the West Stand. Almost comical. There's nothing much more
to say other than I hope the Hammers and Forest lose tonight and I hope this is
just a blip for us.
Scores:
Darlow - 6. Nothing to do other than save a pen which I think he should have
Bogle - 5. Showed his limitations as a winger
Gudmonssen - 7. Our best player on the night.
Rodon - 7. Unlucky with the goal but if you're the last man at the back post
surely you can see exactly where you need to be.
Struijk - 7. Some decent defending.
Stach - 7.Battled well and a couple of decent free kicks
Ampadu - 4. His worst game of the season.
Justin - 6. Worked hard.
DCL - 5. Not involved. Won a few headers but looked isolated. Hasn't scored for
a while now.
Gruev - 5. Played a lot of backwards passes.
Aaronson - 5. Ran a lot but totally ineffective.
Subs:
James - 7. Looked lively. Gnonto - 5. Had a lot of the ball and tried to get at
them but the lad is so obviously not match fit and we need him to be. Nmech -
5. Didn't  influence the game.
Can't remember anyone else. Let's quickly forget about this one and concentrate
on Wembley.
