What a great finish to our season at home , where we have been good all season .Not the best performance and in many ways lucky to get the 3 points but today summed this team up . Up against it from the start with so many injuries and then in a game when we were second best we lost Aaronson and Stach but somehow we found a way to win - a really great mentality and attitude. It was a poor game and we never really got going , our only chances before the goal were a rebound off a defender that their keeper did well to save and a typical Piroe curler that would have gone in last season but went wide today. We were worse than them even to the point where me and my mates said we would be happy at 0-0 so we could at least enjoy the post match celebrations. They had quite a few chances but an inspired Darlow and some bad finishes meant we entered the 9 minutes added on at 0-0 with a team that had 5 or 6 “reserves “ on , including Byram making a sentimental appearance. In the event I think it was his poor pass down the wing that led to our goal as it went right to a defender who played it blindly between his keeper and fellow defender, allowing DCL to steal it and finish from a tight angle . A fitting end to the season for him and for us Obviously we have been in a relegation fight all season but were always ahesd of the curve and were never really in danger ( though it did not always feel like that at the time ) So a well deserved lap of honour which most fans stayed behind for . Not sure what else Farke can do as we discussed his comments from yesterday and 3 of the 8 of us said “ good riddance “ if he goes ? Personally I think it a case of be careful what you wish for - yes there may be better managers out there but I can’t see any who would do better with this group or who would have more commitment or loyalty than Daniel has got ? In the past we have been able to say “ anyone is better “ than this - not sure how you can say that about Farke ? So a great ending ( almost ) to a great season where we have surpassed our wildest dreams, and I for one think we should back Farke to the hilt Onwards , upwards and roll on next season where we will again be in the Prem Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
