Robert Whiteford - known as Rab C because of his Glaswegian accent - died after a fight on Friday, hours before England kicked off their World Cup campaign. The dad-of-two was stabbed in the chest and heard screaming for help before he collapsed in front of shocked witnesses. He died later in hospital. Locals in Barnstaple, Devon, said the fight had followed an argument about football.A 36-year-old man was arrested by armed Devon and Cornwall police on Saturday night and is being quizzed by detectives.
