The NATIONAL CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN MENTAL HEALTH (NCHRMH) wishes to
announce the launch of 2 more new services.
Firstly, we will be launching in March the Greek Rights Advice Service
which will provide advice and advocacy to the Greek Community in their
own language. We will a few months later also be launching a Spanish
Rights Advice Service.
Our centre is looking for people with a good knowledge of mental health
law who are able to speak other languages so that we can continue to
increase the accessibility of our Centre (In particular we would love
someone who could speak Arabic, Cantonese, or Vietnamese, any other
language would also be equally great). If you have a few hours a week
you could volunteer, can fluently speak another language and have a
strong committment to human rights then give us a call on (03) 9689
5075.
The second new service is the MENTAL HEALTH E - MAIL ADVICE AND
INFORMATION SERVICE. This is a service whereby people can e - mail the
NCHRMH with any question about their rights and we guarantee to e - mail
them back with a response within 7 days. For example: how to lodge an
appeal against a Community Treatment Order or what statutory complaint
bodies exist in Australia).
Please note that this service is not a substitute for people who feel
they need to see someone in person, when this is the case give us a
call.
To use this service just e - mail us at:

These services are just 2 more ways that the NCHRMH is leading the way
in human rights and mental health.
