Open Australia
Speaker : Lindsay Tanner

Is Australia an open or closed society? In "Open Australia" Lindsay Tanner
argues that this simple question underpins virtually all major issues in
contemporary Australia. Come along to hear Lindsay talk about his new book
and his vision of a Government which facilitates rather than commands change.



The Bouvet Quartet
and the perils of publishing
Speaker : Michael Jorgensen
2pm Sunday 7th March
Michael describes himself as 'an architect who has sketched and scribbled
most of his life. His new book, which is not entirely uninfluenced by Conan
Doyle, is the first of a self-published Quartet. 
Michael will talk about the book and share his insights into the joys and
difficulties of self-publishing.



Multiculturalism, migration & the Italian contribution
Speaker : Charles D'Aprano
2pm Sunday 14th March
Charles will draw on material in "From goldrush to Federation: Italian
pioneers in Victoria, 1850 - 1900" and his new novel "Tears, laughter and
the revolution". Come along for a fascinating discussion about the lives,
hopes and dreams of Italian pioneers in nineteenth century Australia.
