Toilet seat extentions - Shower seats.
A Member after being discharged from a short hospital stay (as usual)
can not walk because she could not afford to pay for the hire of
'wheel-chair & walking frame'. She is unable to walk.
She also stated to us and we witnessed this too, that no fresh water in
jugs beside the beds for public patients, (however if you are a Private
Health Covered Insurance patient) that is diferent. YOU GET THE WORKS,
YOU EVEN GET GOOD FOOD, the nurses even look after you and attend
you.(no disrespect to the nurses - they are only doing what the doctors
instruct them to do.) but boy the private health insurance cover does
open many doors that the public patient does not see)
On April 23rd, DSP Australia has a deputation with Minister Knowles re
health issues in the public sector for DSP pensioners and also matters
concerning 'Mental Health' issues. If you know of any DSP pensioners
who would like to join us with this deputation, please make contact with
us so we can get our positions all in order. (we believe this is the
first time that this Department is willing to be open for a public
Community Group to listen to complaints with a view to acting on them
for improvements.
Please join in with us to make it really worthwhile
so we can get corrected the wrongs, and live a safe life-style and not
prgress back to the 1770's. If people would like to also write to us
with complaints we welcome this, and they will be presented to the
Minister with our proposals. The outcome of this will determine our
deputation to the Hon. Dr. Michael Wooldridge, Federal Minister for
Health in many areas including psychotic drugs that are injurious to our
welbeing. We welcome all DSP pensioners to contribute and help out in
making sure this is a successfull deputation, volunteers in helping
build up a interesting and tempting report are required to assist us,
and our work together with our 'Marketing Director'. This is 1999 NOT
1770, please help us to bring this home to our authorities so we can
make them see the light for us to walk safely down it.
