I would be very grateful if you could more widely distribute information about the conference day through email or other notices to your members. Detailed information, including registration information, can be found at http://www.vicnet.net.au/disability/june11/ The purpose of this independent conference day, is to allow people interested in online services for people with disabilities to hear reports from organisations which have which have received grants under the innovative Accessability program of the Department of Communiciations Information Technology and the Arts. There will be speakers from around Australia, and abstracts can be found on the website. I know that some local governments are interested in applying for the grants, and you may wish to have staff attend this conference. Reports will be presented by many projects, and there will be plenty of opportunity for productive discussions and networking by everyone attending. Some of projects have important implications for the general delivery of internet services as we look to broadening the reach and appeal of online services. The second AccessAbility funding round, which closes on June 25 has now been announced. Organisations developing applications may well benefit from attending the conference.
