1999 is the 50th anniversary of the publication of "The Second Sex" by
Simone de Beauvoir. We are currently in the planning stages of an event to
celebrate this landmark feminist text. At this stage I'd just like to talk
to women who have read the book (recently, or many years ago!) to get a feel
for what the book meant/means to them.

NOWSA (the Network of Women Students Australia)is holding its annual
conference in Melbourne this year and the organisers are looking for women
who may be prepared to billet a young woman for 5 days between 16-20 July.

Don't forget the radiothon for 3CR 855 am. 3CR has been a consistent voice
for women and a great supporter of the Women's Trust. "Women on the Line",
the national women's current affairs program, has extensively covered
women's issues which are often ignored by mainstream media. 3CR relies on
