We have reason to believe that the Citizens Electoral Council (CEC) may try
to use the upcoming workers rally on the 12th of August to spread their
fascist message and recruit new members.
While the CEC hides behind incomprehensible economic literature promising
to rebuild all different parts of the world and are the only group with a
cure to unemployment, the politics of the CEC is a classic example of
fascist politics. Their ideology mixes left sounding slogans with
simplistic solutions based on authority, obedience, bigotry and resolving
capitalism's crisis.
For instance, their leader Lyndon H. LaRouche has stated that women are the
cause for impotence in males and homosexuals should be lynched. He has in
the past, instructed his members to beat up leftists so as to toughen
themselves up as males, that AIDS sufferers should be quarantined and
isolated, that a super virile male (ie. his party) is needed to govern the
world, that Jews, blacks and non-whites in general are inferior, to bizarre
claims that the CIA, KGB, MI5 are all out to get him.
The CEC's literature is a constant barrage of anti-Semitism, accusing Jews
of controlling the world and plotting against everyone. They consider the
Australian Land Rights movement as a plot by `Prince Phillip to splinter
our nation', they state that `multiculturalism is a racist fraud' and
demand that we wage a `real military style war' against drugs.
While often trying to pass themselves as worker friendly, the reality could
be nothing further from the truth. The CEC's agenda is a fascist
corporatist one, where according to their plans, society would be governed
by an authoritarian body exercising social, economic, political and
cultural control over all aspect of society, using force whenever necessary.
It is therefore important for workers to stop the CEC from distributing
fascist literature at union and community events.
The CEC have their office at 136 Bell St Coburg, and have recently been
active in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
