After returning from East Timor as a part of an ACTU delegation I have a
number of requests. Can anyone help?
A request from CNRT
1. Lap Tops that could be used by the various groups for word processing,
record keeping and building of databases. (the computers would not need to
be year 2000 complaint i.e.they would be obsolete for most unions purposes
and may be lying around union offices.)
2. Request for assistance with communications project. There is a need for
security and communication to provide a link between villages and even
activists in the mountains. Walkie Talkies have been trialled and work well
- cost is $500 a set and the need is for 40 sets. Perhaps unions or
individuals would like to sponsor a set
The ACTU will co-ordinate any donations.
