PAID POSITION AVAILABLE : BOOKSHOP COORDINATOR

The New International Bookshop needs a person who is able to take a 
holistic view of stock, presentation and staffing in the Bookshop!

The Bookshop Coordinator will, on a day-to-day basis:
* Recruit, induct and support volunteers
* Develop, coordinate and monitor organisational and administrative systems
* Coordinate and monitor the ordering and selling of books and general 
merchandise
* Coordinate and monitor presentation and layout throughout the 
cooperative's premises
* Liaise with publishers regarding new stock
* Coordinate and monitor 'external' retailing, i.e. mail and e-mail orders=

* Contribute to the cooperative's marketing
* Perform routine tasks associated with bookselling and cafe operations

This position is being trialed for three months, with the aim of 
re-establishing a trading position in which the permanent part-time 
employment of a Coordinator is financially viable. A contract will be 
negotiated to this effect.

Hours for the three-month period are negotiable (30-38 hours per week) 
during the shop's regular weekday opening hours (10am - 6pm). Salary pro 
rata ~ $35,500 plus 7% superannuation, pro rata annual leave and sick leave 
and 17.5% leave loading.

We are looking for someone who is committed to assisting the left and 
progressive movements and providing literature which contributes to an 
egalitarian, democratic world view.

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are needed. Experience of 
voluntary organisations and/or the book trade will be highly regarded.
